Description:

The Carrier Sales Representative will source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move available freight in a timely yet cost-effective manner. You will cultivate, nurture, and manage carrier relationships, while assisting carriers in optimizing their fleets. This individual works alongside our sales and asset-based departments to meet the shipping needs of our customers. Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Carrier Relationship Management

· Identify, onboard, and develop strong relationships with new and existing carriers.

· Collaborate with carriers to negotiate rates, terms, and service levels to ensure competitive and reliable transportation.

Sales and Business Development

· Proactively seek out new carrier partnerships to expand and diversify our network.

· Utilize various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, and networking to identify and engage potential carriers.

Contract Negotiation and Management

· Draft and negotiate contracts and agreements with carriers, outlining terms, conditions, and performance expectations.

· Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Market Research and Analysis

· Monitor market trends, carrier capacity, and industry developments to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

· Provide insights and recommendation to the management team regarding market dynamics and potential opportunities.

Collaboration with Operations and Sales Teams

· Work closely with internal teams to coordinate and oversee the execution of transportation services.

· Provide timely updates and communication to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Problem Resolution

  • Act as a point of contact for carriers to address any issues, discrepancies, or concerns that may arise during transportation operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to find and implement solutions in a timely manner.
Requirements:

Education and Expertise:

· 2+ years of related experience

· Bachelor's degree, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent work or military experience.

· Proven experience in carrier sales, logistics, or supply chain management

· Previous experience of being able to adapt to new situations & changing growth within an organization.

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities, project management and work with ambiguity.

· Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on prioritization and issue identification.

· Ability to work independently and in a team, while managing multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment.

· Proficiency in using relevant software and tools (i.e., CRM systems, TMS systems, Microsoft Office Suites).
